Limbo is a loose, ever-changing organism, with the six original members joined by many occasional members, collaborators, and guests.
Paul Wigens
Drums, Percussion
Paul has had a varied career of recording and international touring. He was a member of Ted Miltons punk jazz combo Blurt, criss-crossing Europe and North America by train since 1985 and featuring on half a dozen albums. In the late Eighties he was with indie rockers The Wood Children, releasing 2 albums and touring the Uk and France. They recently reformed for a series of sucessful gigs. With UK Americana favourites Grand Drive he recorded 4 albums for BMG, working with producers Jim Cregan (Cockney Rebel/Rod Stewart) and Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris/Iggy Pop/Patti Smith) as well as tours of the U.S, Scandinavia and the UK In the mid nineties he studied with American jazz drummer Clifford Jarvis (Sun Ra/Archie Shepp/Pharoah Saunders). He worked for a number of years with acclaimed physical theatre company Earthfall as musican and composer including work on the soundtrack for their award winning film 'Too Old to Dream'. As a composer he has written for Caminhos/Welsh Independent Dance and short film 'Hammerman' (dir. Andy Shelley) Other collaborations include The Blue Aeroplanes (new album out on Harvest/EMI in March 2006), Suzy Hug, Taxi Val Mentek, Invisible Pair of Hands, Lol Coxhill, and free-rock guitarist Jean Francois Pauvros. Recently he has released an album of improvisations with folk guitarist Ian Kearey (ex Oyster Band), worked on the soundtrack for ITV series 'Jerico' with composer Dominik Scherrer and toured Italy and the UK with lounge-rockers Cousteau.
Jon Wygens

Jon Wygens is an award winning composer for film, television and theatre. Based in London, he has scored dozens of documentaries and television series including the acclaimed travel show Lonely Planet (now known as Pilot Guides/Globe Trekker), the BAFTA nominated series Grand Designs and many more for the BBC, Channel Four, ITV, Discovery and others. He has also composed music for several commercials and is now represented by New York based music house Siblings for commercials. He has scored several short films and has worked extensively in experimental theatre, notably with BAFTA winning dance company Earthfall. He is a respected guitarist having toured and recorded with artists such as legendary jazz-punk pioneers Blurt, cult UK band The Blue Aeroplanes and Portishead producer Geoff Barrow and New York based singer Mckay.

Roger Mills

Roger Mills is a musician (trumpet player), composer & sound artist . Originally from Sydney he came to live and work in the UK in 1987. He has co written albums with Statik Sound System, Spaceways, Eludea (previously Vine)- Cup of Tea Records- and sessioned for Purple Penguin and Grantby- Mo'Wax. He has composed music for commercials, animations and documentaries, including Lonely Planet and Cod Steaks Children's animation 'Shelby & Egbert', as well as co- writing the music for two shows by Earthfall dance company. He is also a founding member of the international artists collective Here Nor There.
John Garden

After 6 years in London on the jazz circuit, John moved to Bristol in 1999.
He spent three months in Singapore in a covers
band then picked up various work in and
around Bristol, as well as forming his own Jazz/Rock Trio, 'Two Thumb'.
John's first major tour outside of Bristol was with Alpha, then signed to
Massive Attack's label Melankolic. Shortly afterwards, John was recommended
to Alison Moyet for her "Hometime" tour.
Following a year working with Alison, John continued to work with many
Bristol artists, including Emily Breeze, Nathan Daniel, Mat Sibley and Jimmy
Goodrich, for whom John produced an EP.
In February 2004, John was recommended to Scissor Sisters, who were looking
for a keyboard player for their touring band. After meeting up with them at
a show in Sheffield, John joined Scissor Sisters as part of the live band,
performing for the first time with them at the South by Southwest music
festival in Austin, Texas. John continues to tour with Scissor Sisters on
keyboards and bass.
Ongoing Bristol projects include keyobards for LIMBO, guitarist for Nik
Young, keyboards and bass for Jimmy Goodrich, and guitarist/keyboardist for
Nathan Daniel, whose debut album was also produced by John.

Dave Perry
Bass Clarinet, Saxes
Described recently by an established jazz musician as 'being on the verge of something', DP plays soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones along with bass clarinet. He also has a musical sideline in small bells and tinkly objects. Influences might include Archie Shepp, David Munrow and Fred Delius.

Joe Evans
Electric Bass
As well as playing electric bass with Limbo, JE plays the accordion with violinist Henry Sears, as Duo la Luna. After ten years as a stained glass artist he worked for three years a tutor and sound engineer at the renowned Bristol youth music project The Basement Studio. He is currently building a residential rehearsal and development space at Maen-Offeiriad in Pembrokeshire.
Chris Vine

Chris Vine studied fine art in Britain and the USA, working as a painter and performance artist. He began playing improvised music in his teens as part of the UK "free jazz" movement and was associated with the "downtown" music scenes of New York and Washington D.C. in the 1980's, working with composers such as multi-instrumentalist Elliott Sharp and drummer Bobby Previte. The Heat Poets were formed in partnership with the Anglo-Welsh poet Chris Torrance in 1985. Chris was guitarist with Ted Milton's cult punk jazz group Blurt during the 1990's, touring Europe extensively, and has also been engaged as composer and performer with dance theatre groups such as Earthfall (Wales) and Verve (Brazil). With mezzo soprano Phillipa Reeves and composer Simon Thorne, Chris formed the Canton Opera Company in 1998, which collaged Baroque arias with abstract soundscapes, both composed and improvised. He currently divides his time between Brazil and Wales, working as composer/performer with Verve Companhia de Danca and as sound designer for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru- the National Welsh Theatre.
